Josie Geck - Pastry Chef
Biography

I started out making the world a better place working as a social worker for a number of years.  In my spare time I would find any excuse to bake.  Wanting a change but still enjoying both passions I decided to reverse the two.  Now I make the world a sweeter place working as a pastry chef and I use my free time volunteering in the community.

It brings me such joy to create cakes and other delectable desserts for any and all celebrations.  My treats are uniquely delicious creations.

I hold a Le Cordon Bleu Certificate in Patisserie and Baking from Texas Culinary Academy.  In addition I received an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and a graduate degree from The University of Texas.  At the 2009 Chocolate Festival at Texas Culinary Academy I received 1st place for my white chocolate cupcakes with homemade strawberry jam and white chocolate buttercream.  My Dr. Suess inspired cake won 2nd place at the 2009 That Takes the Cake! Sugar Art and Cake Show in Austin, TX.

Currently my volunteer time is focused on Family Eldercare, UT Social Work Alumni Network, and the Junior League of Austin.

Hope you have a sweet day!

~ Josie
